Everything you need to know about our animated invitations and announcements and our digital scratch cards. A question without an answer? Write to us.
Joli Ptit Mot (joli-mot.fr) is a French shop for 100% digital creations to announce and invite: animated invitations and announcements (wedding, save-the-date, birth, christening, communion, adult and children’s birthdays), and digital scratch cards whose message is revealed by scratching the screen. Everything is sent by link — WhatsApp, SMS, email or QR code — with no app to install.
The digital scratch card reveals a short, secret message (“You’re going to be a grandma”, “Will you be my witness?”) that the recipient discovers by scratching the screen: it is a surprise, for one or a few people. The animated invitation is a full page sent to all your guests: animated names, date, your text, your photo and, depending on the plan, the venue with its map, the programme and guest replies online. Many customers use both: the scratch card to announce the news to close family and friends, the animated invitation for the invitation itself.
No. Each animated invitation and each scratch card is paid for once, with no subscription or hidden fees. For animated invitations, the number of guests is unlimited and the page stays online for 24 months; sending the link to 10 or 300 people makes no difference. The price of each plan is shown on its page, and a table compares what each one includes.
No. Your guests simply open the link they receive by WhatsApp, SMS or email: the page opens in the browser of their phone, tablet or computer. No app, no account, no ads. You don’t need an account either: you manage everything from the personal link you receive by email after your purchase.
Payment is made online in one go, with PayPal or by bank card via PayPal. Delivery is immediate and entirely digital: you receive an email with the link to the editing page of your scratch card, or to the editor of your animated invitation. Nothing is sent by post.
An animated invitation is a digital invitation that opens full screen on your loved ones’ phones: your names appear gently over an illustrated background, followed by the date, your text, your photo and, depending on the plan, the venue with its map. It is a link to share, not a file or a video: you can edit it after sending, and with most plans your guests reply directly on it.
In three steps: 1) you choose a design on joli-mot.fr and order it; 2) you receive the link to your online editor by email, where you enter names, date, venue and text, and set the font, colours and photo — allow 5 to 10 minutes, from a phone or a computer; 3) you copy the link to your page or its QR code and send it. No software, no Canva.
All plans include the animated arrival of the names, your choice of fonts and colours, your message, your photo, your own background if you wish, the link to share with a QR code, and 24 months online. The wedding invitation adds highlighted information, a countdown, the venue with a Google Maps map, the programme, guest replies with menu choice and custom questions, and a gift fund link. Christening, communion and birthday plans include the venue with map, programme, countdown and guest replies; the birthday plan adds a gift fund link. The children’s birthday plan includes venue, countdown and replies. The save-the-date includes a countdown and the venue. The birth announcement includes the baby’s details and a gift list link.
Yes, as often as you like for 24 months. The link sent to your guests never changes: if the time of the ceremony moves or you add the programme later, you just correct it in the editor and everyone sees the updated page.
Your guests reply directly on the page: attendance, number of adults and children, allergies, a short message. You set a deadline after which the form closes. You find all the replies in your editor, with totals, and you can export them to a file that Excel can read, for the caterer. Online replies are included in the wedding, christening, communion and birthday plans; menu choice and custom questions are reserved for the wedding invitation.
Copy the link to your page from the editor and paste it into a WhatsApp chat or group: a preview appears with your names and the image of your invitation. The same link works by SMS, email or Messenger. Sending a link to 10 or 300 people doesn’t change the price.
Yes. Each page has its own QR code, shown in your editor, which you can reproduce on a card, a menu or a poster: your guests scan it to find the map, the programme and the reply form. Many couples send the animated invitation to everyone and keep a few paper copies for the grandparents.
Yes, in all plans: a photo (the baby, the couple, the person celebrated), shown round, square or arched, and, if you wish, your own background image instead of the one in the design — a football stadium for a child’s birthday, the family home, a beach. A new upload replaces the previous image.
24 months from purchase, at no extra cost. That is enough to send a save-the-date a year before the wedding and keep the page after the party.
Only people who have the link can see your page: its address is random, impossible to guess, and it is excluded from search engines. Your guests’ replies are visible only to you, from the secret editing link you receive by email. Uploaded photos are re-saved without their location data.
A full wedding website takes hours of setup for several pages that few guests browse, and often displays the service’s branding or ads. The animated wedding invitation fits on a single polished page, ready in minutes, with no ads or account: the essentials — date, venue, programme, replies — in a format that reads like an invitation.
It is a virtual card sent by link: the recipient opens it on their phone and scratches the screen with a finger to reveal your secret message, just like a real scratch card. It is used for announcements that deserve a surprise effect: pregnancy, baby’s gender, asking someone to be a witness or godparent, save-the-date, a surprise gift or trip.
Each card can be scratched 2 times. If you send it to several people who each want to scratch it, you can add extra scratches when you order, for a small extra charge per person. The card is paid for once, with no subscription; its price is shown on each card’s page.
Choose a design from the collection, write your secret message (150 characters maximum) and pay for your order: you immediately receive the link to your editing page by email. There you test the card, adjust the message, the size and the colour of the text, then share the final link by WhatsApp, SMS, Messenger or email, or print its QR code to slip into an envelope or a gift.
Yes: it opens in the browser of any recent smartphone, tablet or computer, without an app. Scratching is done with a finger on a touch screen, or with the mouse on a computer. The experience is at its best on a phone.
A card can be scratched 2 times by default. For an announcement to the whole family, there are two options: order one card per recipient (each has their own, with a message that can be different), or add extra scratches to the order so that several people can scratch the same card.
Yes. After ordering, you receive the link to your editing page by email: there you scratch your card to test it, and you can change the message, the size and the colour of the text as often as you like. When you are happy with the result, you share the final link — or its QR code — shown on that same page. Your loved ones only see the scratch card.
The save-the-date goes out 6 to 12 months before the wedding, as soon as the date and the city are set. The wedding invitation follows 3 to 4 months before, with the venue, the programme and a reply deadline, usually a month before the big day so you can confirm the number of guests to the caterer.
With a digital scratch card: your friend receives a link, scratches the screen and discovers “Will you be my witness?”. Plan one card per witness, with a different message for each if you like.
With the guest photo gallery: a link and a QR code to display on the big day, which your guests use to upload their photos from their phones, with no app or account. The gallery is set up within 48 hours of the order and stays open for 3 months after the event.
Yes, it is made for that: prepare the page before the birth (design, colours, text), then add the first name, the date, the weight, the length and the photo from your phone when the day comes. The link goes out straight away by WhatsApp or SMS to family, friends and colleagues. You can change the photo later without changing the link.
The digital scratch card is the simplest announcement to organise: each loved one receives a link, scratches the screen and discovers “You’re going to be a grandma” or “Baby arrives in March”. It also works to reveal the baby’s gender. The card is delivered immediately by email.
Yes: the animated birth announcement includes a button to your online gift list or fund (any website, just paste its link). Joli Ptit Mot does not handle any payment: the button simply takes people to your list.
Yes: you list the ceremony and the meal in the hour-by-hour programme, and the main venue with its Google Maps map and one-click directions. The highlighted information section can be used to introduce the godfather and godmother.
Turn on online replies: each family says whether they are coming, the number of adults and children counted separately, and their allergies. You set a deadline and export the list for the restaurant or the caterer.
Yes. The introductory phrase is free: “Christening of”, “Civil naming ceremony of”, “First Communion of”, “Profession of faith of”, “Confirmation of”. You can also adapt the programme and the venue (town hall, church, hall).
The name and age, the date, the start and end times, the address with its map, what to bring (swimsuit, slippers…) and a way to reply. With the animated children’s birthday invitation, parents reply online and flag allergies, and you can set as the background the image your child has chosen: their sport, their favourite animals, their hero.
Send the invitation link in a private message rather than in a group, and state clearly in the text that it is a surprise. Guests reply on the page, without going through the person being celebrated, and you follow the replies from your editor.
Designs exist for 18, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 years, and for children aged 1 to 10. The age shown is simply text: any design can be adapted to any age in the editor.
